About Qideos.Online

Intro
Qideos.Online is all about collections of YouTube videos that can be viewed in an attractive way via “playlists”. Music videos predominate, but there are also playlists with documentaries and educational content. The site also allows users to switch to YouTube.
Qideos.Online is freely accessible without an account and is currently being updated with new playlists every week.
Qideos.Online offers the option to share the videos available on the site or an entire playlist via a link. For example, the following link provides access to a collection of informational videos from Statistics Netherlands: https://qideos.online/playlist-25. And this link leads directly to a song by Coldplay: https://qideos.online/playlist-2?video=NGN0H26BMBo
The news items shown are taken from DW (Deutsche Welle), a reliable online source. The more detailed article can be accessed by clicking on the text in the ticker. Read more about DW. Or watch DW's live TV channel via the Qideos.Online playlist with live news channels.

Work in progress
Work is currently still ongoing on the functionality of Qideos.Online. For example, consideration is being given to allowing registered users to compile their own playlists. They can then choose to make these playlists public or keep them (temporarily or permanently) for their own use. Individual videos on a playlist can also be marked as public or private.
A ticker tape has been added below the video on Qideos.Online. This shows the title of the video being played, alternating with a current news flash and a link to play another video within Qideos.Online (switch to another playlist). In the future, users with an account will have the option to turn off the ticker tape on their own playlists or replace it with their own text per video, for example a personal message/review of the video.
Qideos.Online is a project by Qumup. Qumup develops Drupal websites (mainly in-house) and on Qideos.Online, Qumup showcases one of the techniques that it can also incorporate into other Drupal websites with additional or replacement playlists. More information will soon be available on the Qumup website.

Good to know
Qideos.Online only shows videos that can be found on YouTube. Qideos.Online is not affiliated with YouTube but uses the techniques that YouTube offers for creating its own APIs such as Qideos.Online. Qideos.Online will always remain accessible free of charge in line with YouTube's rules for playing YouTube content.
Qideos.Online complies with YouTube's terms and conditions for using the technologies that YouTube offers for APIs such as this website. This means that the videos are displayed as they are displayed on YouTube. This includes advertisements, but also blocks that appear with suggestions for follow-up videos on YouTube itself.

Recommendations
When using Qideos.Online for an extended period of time, YouTube may think you are a bot and ask you to log in to your YouTube account (free or paid). If this happens, go to the YouTube website, log in, close YouTube (you will remain logged in) and restart Qideos.online.
When playing long playlists, especially via a web browser on the television, videos may become invisible. If this occurs, restart your browser and your playlist. It is also possible that the ticker tape may not refresh properly on older televisions.
